Learn something new in 200 words: CEPA Certified

Industry standards and certifications are crucial for many of our clients, which means we often write about lots of niche rules and regulations. Recently it was the European Pest Management Standard and the accompanying certification. With an aim to protect public health, assets and the environment, the benchmark specifies the requirements for pest management services to be met by professional providers. It is believed to be upping the standards for pest management across Europe, as certified companies are committed to providing a quality and safe service which minimises any impacts on the environment and animal welfare. The potential of interconnectors to add resilience and provide greater security to our energy network have already been recognised, as there is a target for all EU member states to…

That’s a lot of energy, so the EU implemented the 2018 EPC Minimum Standards Regulations to combat it. Under the standards, landlords will only be able to let properties if they have achieved a minimum EPC rating band of E. But with around 18% of commercial property in the UK currently possessing an EPC rating of F or G, there’s a lot of stock under a ticking clock. Introduced to speed up energy efficiency upgrades in the non-domestic sector, landlords with properties which have an EPC rating of F or G will only be able to let the property after they have…
